Arc’teryx Stowe Pant Review
The material is chosen with durability in mind. Strength, abrasive resistance and quick-drying are some of the advantages of using this blend of material for outdoor apparel. It is also wrinkle resistant, highly absorbing and comfortable to wear for lengthy durations. The cotton/nylon blend is also stretchy, making it the perfect hiking pant for when you are trying to conquer tough terrains. Furthermore, retains its shape even after being stretched. The only downside is that it isn’t fully breathable as 100% cotton. Nonetheless, it reduces condensation.
The rest of the Stowe pants specs pretty much aligns with that of a regular hiking pant. Pocket placement is resourceful and designed with the needs of an outdoor enthusiast in mind. You can conveniently store your phone, travel wallet, flashlight etc. without much discomfort and the zippered pockets account for safety.
Amongst all this, Arc’teryx has not restricted mobility or freedom of movement by any means. Articulated knee design confirms that you aren’t constrained while you climb, hike, or ski. The belt loops secures your waist fit and the pant packs down small for convenient travel storage.
Customer Feedback
Here’s a summary of what the consumers have to say. The majority of the customers are extremely satisfied with their purchase. Common positive feedback include lightweight, comfortable in the right way, quick-drying, great pocket layout and solid water wicking ability. Most importantly, the comfort of the pant was described as the freedom of movement and the ability to wear without sweat accumulation or discomfort. A user claims that the side pocket even held is iPhone 11and also values the flap instead of a velcro.
On to the negative feedback. To be completely honest, there has been only one reasonable common complain and that is the color fading effect. A couple of users complained that they wore them only once and the color noticeably faded. The issue has only gotten worse once they washed the pants thoroughly. However, note that this is merely a comment on the fashion and not the functionality. Both the clients agree that the pants are super functional, comfortable and works splendid in the great outdoors. Some other had disagreed on the snap button closure for the waist, claiming that it was insecure.
Verdict
That’s pretty much everything there is to know about the Arc’teryx Stowe Pant. This casual styled, well put together pant might be just the one that you were in search of for your adventure travels and regular use. You can choose to camp, hike, bike, trek and engage in any other outdoor activity with these pants on, or just opt for regular household activity usage.
Arc’teryx Levon Pant
A close competitor to the Stowe pant. Arc’teryx do have a wide variety of selections when it comes to outdoor apparel. The Levon pant is almost identical to the Stowe in functionality and fashion, then what separates them aside from the price tag?
Arc’teryx Levon Pant Specs
- Cotton nylon blend with PFC free
- DWR finish
- 16.58 oz
- Gusseted crotch and subtle articulation at the knees
- Five pocket layout
Arc’teryx Levon Pant Review
As you can see, the material and design is basically the same, except for the percentage of elastane used. The Stowe has only 4% while the Levon has 9%. So it is a bit more stretchable making it more appropriate for outdoor use. The water resistivity is higher and the weight is a bit higher than the Stowe. Mobility as usual is enhanced using the knee articulation and gusseted crotch. According to Arc’teryx, the Levon is focus on performance, detail and craftsmanship, and styled for mountain town or city.
However, in our opinion, this is more of a hiking pant than for town or city use. You can use it for regular activities, but it is best utilized in adventure travel. The specs justify this conclusion. Lightweight, better elasticity, more water repellant and the build material all points in one direction, outdoor use. The flip side is that it is pricier than the Stowe because of the reasons mentioned above.
Customer Feedback
Again, the user feedback is amazing and encouraging to any potential buyer. It also proved our conclusion that this is more of an adventure travelers pant. The buyers have mostly used this pant for hiking, trekking, mountaineering and biking. Collectively, they are mostly praising the stretch nature, comfy material, pocket accessibility and the wrinkle free nature even after prolonged use. No height or waist issues whatsoever. There were quite a few customers who are above 6ft and the length was perfect for them.
A nature videographer/ journalist from Washington states that these pants are well versatile, flexible and perfect for slightly cooler temps. The pros go on and on with everyone elaborating on the above mentioned positivity of these Levon pants. The minor complaint is that the zip fly being too small and they need more color options. But that was just the opinion of a couple of users.
