Who Are Foxelli?

Let us clear the fog surrounding Foxelli first since this is a bit unfamiliar brand for some. Foxelli is an outdoor apparel and gear manufacturing company based in Noblesville, Indiana, United States. Their vision is that The outdoors speaks to every soul and they represent the mission to empower outdoor enthusiasts and everyday users as they meet extreme environments and activities with headstrong confidence. Foxelli outdoor wear ranges from hiking boots, jackets to beanies. Their outdoor activity gear feed includes headlamps, fishing and hunting equipment and camping hiking gear. So yeah, the list is pretty extensive and the customer base wide as a result.

When it comes to trekking poles, they do have a few Aluminium, carbon fiber and folding trekking poles. As you can guess, the carbon fiber ones are the most in demand and equally expensive. So in today’s post we will review them and see if they are worth the price.

Foxelli Carbon Fiber Trekking Poles Review

Materials And Design

Obviously the carbon fiber material is the attracting point here but how exactly are they strong versus aluminium? In terms of tensile strength, density and specific stiffness carbon fiber outranks aluminium by significant numbers. Especially for tensile strength, carbon fiber has more than twice the strength of aluminium. Amongst these properties, it is also lightweight which explains why they use it in the automobile industry, next to titanium of course. If the product’s main objective is high strength-to-weight or high stiffness-to-weight, carbon fiber is the definite choice.

And this is exactly what the engineers of Foxelli were thinking when integrating carbon fiber. It also is shock-absorbent and significantly reduces the impact on joints. You can rely on these to withstand your body weight on rough trekking grounds. The rest of the design is pretty simple yet showcases the finishing of a great trekking pole. The anti-slip natural cork grips keep your hands cool and dry during any form of hike regardless how roughly you grip. Sweat has no effect on these grips and you can use them in all seasons. Plus the breathability of these grips will make sure that your palm won’t go numb during lengthy treks.

Adjustability

The quick-lock technology enables accelerated adjustment without a waste of time. As we mentioned above, the sizing can be specific from a little child to a full grown adult. Further stability is ensured because the sturdy locks are designed to firmly keep the walking poles in place and prevent them from sliding down. Pretty sure that 24” to 55” covers all height ranges. Anyways, let’s see what the customers have to say.

Additional Features

Furthermore, you have the extended foam sleeves, made of soft EVA foam, to adapt to abrupt changes in terrain and help during switchbacks. The wrist straps are extra-padded, fully adjustable and breathable. It ensures that you don’t drop your poles in case your palm grip gives away. So they have thought of redundancy as well. The tungsten carbide tips will give you stable footing whatever the terrain or the season may be. A carrying case and a carrying clip are both included for easy, convenient storage and transportation.

Beatrice Haines who after having used these poles for an year, couldn’t lock them in place and Foxelli provided her with a new pair. As you can see, next level customer service is another pro of them.

Another customer who used these poles for 7 days of walking with an 8kg backpack in the West Coast of Scotland states that they performed exceptionally well. The path consisted of stone paths and usual mountain terrain. Overall, it is the same feedback again and again. The users never get tired of complimenting the rigidity of the carbon fiber and how easily it tackles rough terrains. Also the added fanny pack, the carrying case with different terrain attachments, comfortable wrist straps and lightweight just increases the overall price to performance.
