In particular, for those who prefer winter hikes, snowboarding and traveling to the coldest places in extreme temperatures, you got yourself a pretty worthwhile deal here. The North Face Women’s Mashup Insulated Jacket was built considering how well you ought to be leveled up in tough conditions. No surprises there though since The North Face, as we are well aware, is a pioneer in the outdoor clothing industry and travel gear. As usual, let’s start off with the specs;

To start off with the jacket review, you can see that the material isn’t just mere polyester. Nor is it the famous GORE-TEX technology. So what is polyester taffeta? well, Taffeta is considered a high-end fabric given some of its unique features. It is made using the plain-weave technique utilizing polyester fibres and the specialty is that the threads are twisted as they are woven. This is what creates the structural integrity and stiffness of the material. Although it is stiff, the end product surface is actually quite smooth with a strong structure underneath.
Now you might be wandering, with all these differently graded material out there, which actually works the best? It isn’t an easy nor a straightforward question to answer. However, during our research, GORE-TEX seemed to outrank the rest of the fabrics. Mostly due to its breathability which reduces condensation. Additionally the abrasion resistance and ability to withstand rough environments contribute to it. Nonetheless, the 50D polyester taffeta is extremely functional just falling a little short of the GORE-TEX.
The rest of the specs pretty much emphasize how well the jacket has been manufactured to empower you in mountain and winter sports activities. You can eliminate the use of scarfs because of the capable collar. No issues with reduced upper body movement because of the stretch-fleece sleeves. As great as these specs may look on paper, let’s see what the actual users have to say.
What The Users are Saying
We analyzed quite a few retail platforms including the official TNF website itself and here’s what we found on the feedback department.
Overall, the reviews are great and quite tempting. Users are appreciative of the insulation, the material, the softness of the fleece inside and the texture. It does no injustice in terms of keeping you warm. Also the thumb holes in the sleeves were gladly received. As always, the issues rested with the sizing. Particularly a few complaining that the jacket was a bit too athletic since the fit was tight. A few had complained that the sleeves were long while the body was short. So as some of the users say, “Throw away the North Face size chart when it comes to this item”.
Choose to order a larger than the usual size since it has worked for most. Nevertheless, those bad experiences were minor when compared with the bigger base. Therefore be mindful of the size while ordering if you choose to do so. The jacket is great for casual wear, hiking, biking and other outdoor activities during the winter. Also it has a wide range of color selections making it a stylish choice too.

The North Face Women’s Tamburello jacket review
We believe that this is a winner for all you ski lovers out there. Note that this acts as a well functional mid layer for below-freezing days and for chilling skiing adventures. You may or may not want to wear an extra layer on top of this. We will talk about that later and see how the customers utilized the jacket. Perhaps what makes this jacket more appropriate and fitting for females is its feminine silhouette looking great when worn on its own. The material is somewhat special too. Made from an eco-conscious recycled fabric featuring a Durable Water-Repellent (DWR) finish.
What The Users are Saying
The overall reviews are definitely encouraging to any potential buyer. Jessica who is 5’2 in 165lbs ordered this through Amazon and she wore it with a fitted sweater underneath out in TAHOE. Enough chest space although it didn’t quite fit around the waist. Nevertheless, she loves the color and the warmth in the cold. The common feedback we found on all platforms was that although the jacket is lightweight it keeps you really warm and comfy in strong winds and chilly weather.
Plus the pockets are handy because you can store the small accessories. We only came across one negative feedback apart from the sizing and that was from Amber who purchased it off Amazon. She claims that the fabric stains easily-and the thread design on the outside of the fabric snags quite easily too. However, the material is abrasion resistant and there were no other complaints on wear and tear. In comparison the jacket performs very well in all areas except for the sizing as usual. Just order a bigger size and you’ll be fine.
